Every Spa Shiki technician and therapist is certified or licensed by law and has achieved American Spa Therapy Education and Certification Council certification. ASTECC education guarantees a comprehensive knowledge of European spa therapies.

Nancy Gordon, Lead Esthetician

In the spa industry since 2000, Nancy Gordon has held the position of lead esthetician at Spa Shiki since 2003. Nancy is certified in manual lymph drainage through ASTECC and studied under Anne Bramham. Nancy has also received advanced training from B. Kamins, Skinceuticals (trained in 60 percent medical peels), Clarisonic, Derma MD (trained in 40 percent medical peels), MD Skincare, Grace Medical Spa (macrodermabrasion and 40 percent medical peels) and Spa Technologies.

To complement her education, she has trained with celebrity makeup artist Lori Neapolitan, who has worked with Sarah Jessica Parker, Oprah Winfrey, Meryl Streep, Nikki Hilton and more. She has also traveled to receive Phtyomer skin care training in Salt Lake City, Utah; salon training with Tony & Guy in Texas; and more salon training with Samvilla in Kansas City.

Nancy strives to educate her clients on how to take care of themselves and their skin, especially focusing on addressing concerns about aging, acne and rosacea. She enjoys making people feel good, relax and forget about the stress in their lives when they come into the spa.

Carol Schien, Lead Massage Therapist and Esthetician

Carol Schien has served as the lead massage therapist at Spa Shiki since 2006. She became nationally certified in massage in 1993 and since that time has also achieved licensing as a nail technician and esthetician. Carol received certification in hydrotherapy from ASTECC.

She has received advanced skincare training in B. Kamins, Clarisonic, Skinceuticals (trained in 60 percent medical peels) and Derma MD (trained in 40 percent medical peels). She has also studied reflexology and aromatherapy with ASTECC and Anne Bramham. She practices the International Institute of Reflexology’s protocol.  Her advanced education also includes training with celebrity makeup artist Lori Neapolitan, who has worked with Sarah Jessica Parker, Oprah Winfrey, Meryl Streep, Nikki Hilton and more.

Carol is a past second vice president of the Missouri chapter of the American Massage Therapy Association and she is active in the local Kiwanas Club and helps with the Easter Seals Wing Ding. She finds satisfaction in her job by knowing that she made someone feel better.

Lauren Huff, Esthetician

Lauren Huff studied at the Aveda Institute in Minneapolis and Missouri State University. Lauren has received advanced training from B. Kamins, Skinceuticals (trained in 60 percent medical peels), Clarisonic and Derma MD (trained in 40 percent medical peels).

Kaylee Heaton, Esthetician

A graduate of the Academy of Hair Design in Springfield, Mo., Kaylee Heaton loves the satisfaction she gets by improving how someone looks and how they feel about their skin. Kaylee has received advanced training from Skinceuticals (trained in 60 percent medical peels), Clarisonic and Derma MD (trained in 40 percent medical peels). She attended Kryolan make-up classes, and she is certified in Kryolan make-up.
