What are the spa’s hours?

Spa Shiki is open 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sundays. Winter hours may change slightly.
What does my spa visit include?

Guests receiving spa treatments may enjoy use of spa facilities on the day of their treatment. Spa facilities include the indoor/outdoor swimming pool,men’s and women’s steam and infrared sauna , a co-ed whirlpool, fitness facility and sanctuary lounge. Locker, robe, slippers and personal amenities are included, and complimentary fruit and a variety of teas are available. A swimsuit is required for the co-ed whirlpool or pool.
Guests receiving services may enjoy the facilities on the day of their treatment. Resort guests not receiving treatment and guests receiving salon treatments only may enjoy all spa facilities for a nominal $35 daily fee, pending facility availability.
Should I undress completely?

If you feel comfortable doing so, most guests undress completely for body treatments and massages. All Spa Shiki therapists are trained to follow a draping policy that ensures the comfort and safety of all guests. Only the specific area of the body being worked on will be exposed.
What do I do when I arrive?

Please arrive at least 20 minutes prior to your appointment for any services. This will allow you time to check in, receive your locker and prepare for your service. You will be welcomed by a spa receptionist. If you are receiving spa services, you will be led to the women’s or men’s locker room where you will change into a robe and slippers. Your spa therapist will then meet you in the locker room’s lounge area.
What if I am late or have to cancel or change my appointment?

As a courtesy to all guests, please be prompt for your appointment. If you are late, we will try to accommodate you but cannot promise your full service time. Cancellations or changes require 24-hour advance notice. Cancellations or changes within six hours of the scheduled treatment and “no-shows” will be charged full value. Same-day appointments are non-cancelable and charged at full value.
What if I don’t know what services I should schedule?

Our receptionists are trained to answer questions and help you get the most out of your spa visit. Please feel free to call with questions or for any guidance on what therapies or treatments will best fulfill your needs.
How much should I tip my therapist?

An 18 percent service charge and applicable taxes will be automatically added to all services and packages and included in your bill. Your therapist or technician will receive 15 percent; the support staff will receive the remaining 3 percent.
How far in advance should I call to schedule my spa appointment?

Personal services are limited; please make your appointments by calling 573-365-8108 or 800-THE-LAKE prior to your arrival at the resort. We suggest making reservations one to two weeks in advance.
Is it possible to request a male or female therapist?

You may request a male or female therapist when you schedule your treatments; however, we regret that we cannot guarantee this preference. All of our therapists are highly skilled professionals and well-trained in draping techniques to provide the utmost comfort for your spa experience. Our ability to schedule you with either allows us to provide you the widest range of appointment availability.
What if I am pregnant or have a medical condition?

We request that you disclose any medical condition and/or prescription medication you are taking as some services may be contra-indicated. In addition, please discuss any concerns with your therapist and esthetician. Pregnant women and individuals with varicose veins should avoid heat treatments.
Is it okay to wear jewelry to the spa?

You may not want to wear jewelry during your spa service; therefore, we suggest that you leave all valuables securely locked in your hotel room.
Are children allowed in the spa?

The spa is an adult environment where our guests are 18 years of age or older. We welcome our younger guests to utilize our salon services. Click here for manicure and pedicure offerings, and click here for hair services.
Are Spa Shiki therapists certified?

Spa Shiki has made a commitment to the level of professionalism and qualifications in our spa environment. Every technician or therapist is certified or licensed by law, and Spa Shiki has partnered with the Bramham Institute of Florida to provide ASTECC certification. ASTECC (American Spa Therapy Education & Certification Council) was set in place to raise the standards of training and treatment protocol within the spa industry. Graduates are guaranteed, through strict exams, a comprehensive knowledge of basic European spa therapies. Training is year-round; therapists receive national CEUs. Spa Shiki is also a member of the International Spa Association (ISPA).
